Today Maui will be partly sunny with highs in the 80’s!
The Realtors Association of Maui (RAM) has released the December sales statistics. The data below represents two sets of numbers to include the three main categories of sales: residential, condo and vacant land. The first set of numbers shows how many units were sold in each category. The second set of numbers shows the median sales price for each category. Each set of data compare the total numbers for sales made from January through December and we are comparing 2014 vs. 2013. Since this is the last set of numbers for the year we are able to get a full picture of the year’s sales and compare it to what happened in the previous year.
Looking at this data it is clear that the number of sales was in a decline during 2014 (compared to 2013). Some of this might be due to all the foreclosures and REO sales as well as the lower prices in the previous year. The median sales prices during 2014 was up in all three categories!
RAM states that the inventory for both residential and condos has increased over the year and that the amount of foreclosures and REO’s has declined. You can read the full report on the link provided.
