Aloha & Good Morning!
Today Maui will be sunny and breezy highs in the mid-80’s!
Fall is in the air across much of the country. Even in warm states like Hawaii we enjoy the fall spirit. I recently joined my friends and family at the Kula Pumpkin Patch. We happily wore shorts to the farm and then came home and got cozy together while carving pumpkins and enjoying each other’s company.
During the fall there are some great homeowner chores that we should all keep in mind. Regardless if you are going to sell your home soon or not there are some great fall housekeeping tips that will help keep your home in top-shape. These tips will not only keep your home functioning properly but will help you prepare to list it for sale.
Air Leaks – Leaks around doors and windows can create energy loss and that means money loss. Starting with a visual check of these areas on both inside and outside of your home is a great first step.
Roof Check – In many areas there is a threat of snow that is coming your way. Even here in Hawaii we will enter a new season and that will bring more rain. Checking your roof now for any repairs will save you in the future.
Filters – Check and change your filters regularly. If you are not in the habit of changing filters then now is a great time to start. You can even set monthly or quarterly reminders in your smart phone to help remind you.
Smoke Detectors – change out your batteries and run a test on your smoke detectors. Also a good time to clean out the dryer vent.
Fireplace – check for any damage and schedule a cleaning so the debris is cleared out for a safe burning environment.
