Maui weather today will be mostly sunny with highs in the low 80’s.

Did Mortgages Just Get Easier to Obtain? - Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac's new lending guidelines went into effect Monday, which are expected to help loosen up the tight credit standards that home buyers and refinancers have faced in recent years.

November Round Up: Fixed Mortgage Rates Dip Just Below Four Percent

In Freddie Mac's results of its Primary Mortgage Market Survey^® (PMMS^®), the average fixed mortgage rates were slightly down from the previous week with the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage dipping just below four percent.

·  30-year fixed-rate mortgage (FRM) averaged 3.99 percent with an average 0.5 point for the week ending November 20, 2014, down from last week when it averaged 4.01 percent. A year ago at this time, the 30-year FRM averaged 4.22 percent. 

·  15-year FRM this week averaged 3.17 percent with an average 0.5 point, down from last week when it averaged 3.20 percent. A year ago at this time, the 15-year FRM averaged 3.27 percent. 

·  5-year Treasury-indexed hybrid adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM) averaged 3.01 percent this week with an average 0.5 point, down from last week when it averaged 3.02 percent. A year ago, the 5-year ARM averaged 2.95 percent.

·  1-year Treasury-indexed ARM averaged 2.44 percent this week with an average 0.4 point, up from last week when it averaged 2.43 percent. At this time last year, the 1-year ARM averaged 2.61 percent. 

Existing Home Sales Rise Again - Existing-home sales were higher than year-ago levels for the first time in 12 months, says the National Association of REALTORS^®. The seasonally adjusted annual rate was 5.26 million units sold in October 2014, the highest annual pace since September 2013.
