Maui weather today will be sunny and breezy with highs in the low 80’s.
I have lots of buyer news to share this week! Not only did Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac just introduce a new low down payment loan qualification but this time of year is a great time to get into a new home or pick up a vacation rental on Maui.
The new loan programs are geared toward first-time home buyers and those seeking to refinance their existing loans. Loans will begin this week with Fannie Mae and in March with Freddie Mac.
Last week I posted the November Round Up which highlighted that fixed mortgage rates had dipped below 4%. You can read that full article on the RESM website.
This week there are two new articles that were posted on the RESM website that are geared towards home buyers. The first is a great list of nine reasons to buy a home. The article starts out with three questions that allow you to proceed to buying a home with nine great reasons!
- Do you want to buy a home?
- Are you financially prepared?
- Is your credit where it needs to be?
You can add the new low down payments to that list for first time homeowners too!
I also posted a great article for buyers with ten steps to take before buying a home. This article was written with a first-time buyer in mind but I think it easily applies to any buyer. There are some basic questions that should be answered before buying a home as well as well-guided steps to make the process flow as smoothly as possible.
